THE TEAM
After completing his Postgraduate studies from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland in Architecture, Protyush joined, as a timber frame designer at a Multinational Corporation in England.
Later on returning to India, he worked in Bangalore, Delhi, and in the Middle East (Qatar) to gain experience in designing and executing projects that ranged from private residences, schools, commercial to industrial projects and their detailed interiors.
Protyush now heads Design 42 as its Principal Architect.

D42 team is a perfect blend of the old and the young, the conventional with the contemporary. Having completed their graduation from Piloo Mody College of Architecture, Cuttack. Rumi and Ankita worked in Hyderabad for a brief period, mainly involving interior projects for Villas and Bungalows. Major part of their undergraduate years were invested in the architectural designs. They tried their hands at landscape design, commercial and hospitality projects through their internship programs. They joined D42 to take another step towards the desire to work with traditional materials and also enhancing their understanding of contextual design and construction details.
President of Martin Burn Construction Ltd., Mr. Pradeep Kanti Lala's experience and expertise is vast and varied. Now the Senior Advisor of D42, earlier used to act as the CEO and Executive Director at CCAP and Shelter Infra Projects, Managing Director at Argil Construction Pvt. Ltd., Denoro Construction Pvt. Ltd., NU-built Construction Pvt. Ltd., Chief Executive at Druk Thundel Lerig (Bhutan) and Norgay Construction and Project Manager at Mackintosh Burn Ltd. Apart from working on projects in India and Bhutan, he had been associated with German engineers/consultants of GTZ.GMBH., and Hyundai Heavy Industries Ltd., Korea.
He had been involved with projects under Hydel power, Thermal power, Petrochemical industries, Metro railways, Coal India, IOL and the major state electricity boards of India. He played a major role in the landscaping and beautification of Tata Hydel Project (Bhutan) and Engineering University of Bhutan (Kharbandi).
Currently pursuing her PhD from IIT, She has an experience of over 10 years in the education sector. Also an alumna of Presidency College and Lady Brabourne College. She has experience of working with Cambridge University Press as a content developer cum editor other than being a corporate trainer in the beginning of her career. Her interests range from books, films, creative and critical writing, modern media, sports and travels. She advises the D42 team on media and communication-related issues and strategies.
