The Nag Residence, Kolkata
He believed in ratios and proportions, while she was more obsessed with aesthetics and intricacies. With a lot to fit in and the floor space area getting constrained and precious, designing the humble abode of a Statistician and a Geologist, was quite a challenge! After extensive brainstorming & several revisions, in the end, all the requirements were ingenuously addressed for the smooth functioning. Presenting The Nag Residence.

Sai Shobitha, Bangalore
The client wanted the feel of free flowing space not segregated by walls. Despite the constraints of a small site, for their demand, the house was designed without walls: every space differentiated by levels. The residence progressively emerges through a series of intimate and custom-made areas.

Restoring an old residence to Design 42 Studio
Older properties after outliving their purpose still carry value to the surrounding community. Thus the restoration of such buildings can act as an anchor for the redevelopment of a block, street or district. We were fortunate enough to restore one such property, which is now our studio! It's part of a "smart growth" approach, preserving the infrastructure of existing properties to reduce energy consumption and re-purposing it for new uses.
